PSG is looking for a dynamic Northern Sales Manager to join their team – could it be you? Read on!

Summary:

The Northern Sales Manager will be responsible for generating sales and opportunities to support the strategic objectives of the company. The role will be predominantly focused on aerospace OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and OEM subcontractors, MRO (Maintenance Repair & Overhaul) facilities and airlines. Efficient and professional customer service is essential to ensure customer satisfaction and maximise sales revenue.

The Sales Manager will work within the team to initiate and develop sales opportunities within OEMs, OEM subcontractors, MRO facilities and airlines whilst maintaining and growing sales on existing accounts. They will be expected to develop and preserve relationships at all levels with a focus on seeking growth opportunities and meeting business objectives. They will also be expected to be alert to market trends and competitive developments.

The role will home-based and require frequent external sales visits and attending marketing events, with periodic trips to the Company’s head office in Hampshire. The Sales Manager must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner and have excellent communication skills.

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

  • Establish new sales channels whilst growing existing accounts
  • Initiate, develop and preserve customer relationships at all levels
  • Generate sales leads / manage sales pipeline through CRM
  • Ability to negotiate long term agreements
  • Maintain close liaison with customer services team to ensure all sales quotations and transactions are accurately processed and delivered to meet customer satisfaction
  • Generate monthly sales reports and track sales to target
  • Periodic attendance at meetings, tradeshows, conferences and air shows.

Education and Experience:

Essential: Field sales experience gained in the aerospace or similar market

Desirable: Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in a technical or business related discipline

Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages more particularly to support the preparation of Power Point presentations and the maintenance of Excel pivot tables for sales dashboards.

Package/Benefits:

Salary: £40-45K

PSG seeks Consignment Stock Controller

PSG is looking to recruit a self-motivated individual to travel between customer sites to check and maintain our on-site inventory.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous experience of batch controlled stock movements and/or warehouse operations
  • The ability to plan and manage their travel time
  • Good attention to detail
  • A clean driving license
  • Fluent spoken and written English

Qualities/Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous customer facing experience is an advantage
  • Bright, positive and enthusiastic personality
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Sound knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Previous experience of chemical products is an advantage

PSG signs distribution agreement with Gurit

Graytone is delighted to announce that PSG has entered into a distribution agreement with Gurit (www.gurit.com) to distribute Gurit’s range of industry leading aerospace prepregs.

With over 30 years’ experience in the practical application of composites across various market sectors, combined with an impressive portfolio of materials and a unique technical approach, Gurit offers the most complete composite solution on the market.

One of Gurit’s primary product categories for the aerospace sector is prepreg, which is an engineered material combining fibres and resin matrices in an easy-to-apply material. These aerospace-qualified materials are highly suitable for many interior and structural applications, demonstrating a unique combination of properties combining excellent mechanical performance and the fulfilment of the highest international JAR/FAR fire protection regulations regarding fire, smoke, toxicity (FST) and heat release.

Graytone’s Business Development Director, John Keating, has been working closely with Gurit on the agreement, resulting in PSG assuming responsibility for the supply chain of Gurit’s prepregs to a number of customers throughout Europe. As a first step, PSG will be contacting these customers to identify their ongoing requirements for PSG to establish a stockholding of Gurit’s products at its UK base. This will enable the immediate shipment of a range of Gurit’s materials anywhere in Europe, significantly  reducing lead-times and improving service to Gurit’s customer base.

Quentin Guedot, our new Management Accountant, breathes some continental warmth into the Graytone Finance department. Quentin, who hails from Nantes in France, has Master’s degrees in Strategic & Financial Analysis, and International Finance. His experience, gained in France and Australia, includes such diverse areas as investment banking, financial consultancy and financial strategy & planning. Quentin, who has travelled extensively and is bilingual in French and English, joins FD Nick Robins to form a dynamic new finance team for the Graytone Group.

A sad farewell and a warm hello

Graytone is sad to be bidding farewell to Finance Director Tony Swayne who has retired after 29 years of service to the business. Tony has seen us through many milestones, playing an active part in the management buyout in 2000, and has led the Finance Department of Graytone now for 17 years. His contribution towards the success of the business has been considerable over his career, and we wish him a well-deserved, long and happy retirement.

Meanwhile we are delighted to welcome Nick Robins (right) to the role of Graytone Finance Director, who brings 16 years’ experience in the aerospace industry and a wealth of experience in business development and financial management.  His career began as a KPMG trained Chartered Accountant and he rose quickly through the ranks, entering the aerospace industry in the late 90s as Finance Director at McKechnie Aerospace, moving to Pattonair as Executive Director for Europe in 2004. Nick’s extensive and varied experience in business will be a huge asset to the Graytone group and we are excited to have him on board.

Graham Yates & Keith O’Dell on a visit to US aerospace coatings supplier Sherwin-Williams

PSG is delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Rice as the new General Manager of PSG, following the announcement of the retirement of Keith O’Dell back in January 2016.

Graham Yates, Managing Director of Graytone: “We will be sad to see Keith depart. PSG has enjoyed steady growth and successful diversification in the MRO market under his leadership over a ten year period.”

Steve will be only the fourth PSG General Manager since the creation of the business in 1972, following in the footsteps of Tony Wood (Founder), Graham Yates, and Keith O’Dell.

Steve has many years’ experience in general management, sales management and operational IT gained within the aerospace supply chain and chemical management environment. During his career he has held many senior positions including that of Managing Director of Aeropia UK, General Manager of Haas in the US and Director of Sales for Wesco in Asia.

Steve will take up his position on 1st August and I am sure you will join me in welcoming him to PSG and wish him every success in his new role.

PSG welcomes new Business Development Manager

PSG is delighted to welcome David Kenyon-Woodruff to the Company. David will have national sales responsibility and will be working with the PSG sales team to further penetrate and build sales in the aerospace market sector. David is a highly experienced sales manager with many years’ experience in key account management and the distribution of aerospace consumables. His appointment will strengthen PSG’s position in this sector and his knowledge of chemicals, adhesives and composite consumables will prove to be of great benefit.

 

Pexa’s New Facility Gains Royal Approval

HRH 1Pexa was proud to welcome HRH The Duke of York, accompanied by Dr Ingrid Roscoe, the Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, to declare their new premises open for business on 9 November. With help from a grant from the Leeds City Region and the ERDF Pexa was able to completely upgrade the premises in Holywell Green to an “as new” condition and to install new offices, warehouse space and a new production facility for its own line of paints and coatings for the optical industry.

Pexa was established in 2002 and has grown to be a leading and well recognised supplier to the aerospace industry and a key industrial partner for major international brands with 30% of its sales overseas. Graytone sees the move to the new facility as a platform for further growth.

ThHRH 2e Duke of York, a well-known advocate for British business on the international stage, participated in a business meeting with Pexa and Graytone Directors. He also met the Pexa team together with customers, suppliers, representatives from trade associations and government agencies involved in Pexa’s activities.

Jim Rowbotham, Managing Director of Pexa said – “the whole team was thrilled to meet His Royal Highness, he was very interested in the nuts and bolts of the operation, our people development and apprentice activity and our plans for the future. He really engaged with us and wants to make a contribution”.

HRH 3His Royal Highness said “This is a ‘go get them’ firm determined to increase its market share. I hope this facility is a success and, as manufacturing gets under way, that you will come up with some clever innovations that will make you one of the companies that are absolutely needed”.

Gardner awards PSG an exclusive global supplier agreement

PrintA 3 year contract has been awarded to PSG for the supply, service and support of the Gardner Aerospace sites across the UK, France, Poland and India.

During the last few months there has been a successful implementation process that involved a detailed site audit of each facility, the setting up of consignment stocks and a process review. PSG will be supplying a mix of Mapaero and PPG products together with paint shop consumables.

Dave Hughes, Director of Strategic Sourcing at Gardner, said “PSG have been able to offer a global service supporting current and future requirements of our facilities in Europe and Asia. The deal ensures cost effective pricing for Gardner and further consolidates our supply chain”
